A new feature was recently added to the NOVA app – resale market. This is a whole complex of innovations that widen investing capabilities for verified users on NOVA. Read the article to learn more about it and how you can manage your NOVA tokens more flexibly.
What is a hot token and how to buy it?
The first noticeable change is in the property card. Now some of the funded properties are marked with a new icon, a green light in the upper right corner. This icon shows that you can buy hot tokens of a property even though all its tokens were already bought out and the property was funded.
A hot token is a limited token offering of a funded property that is provided by a NOVA user at a customizable price. The hot token price can differ from the original token price set by NOVA.
If you are interested in an already-funded project, you can invest in its hot tokens. To do it, open the property card and tap the button ‘Buy hot tokens’. Study the available offerings, choose the necessary amount of tokens, and add them to your cart.
After that, you can complete the purchase in the Cart. Please note that you can buy the hot tokens only using the NOVA wallet. Top up your in-app wallet first and then come back to the Cart to finish the order.
Once you buy hot tokens, you see them in your Portfolio together with other tokens. You become the owner of these tokens, and the previous owner loses their right to the future profit generated by this property. From now on, you will be receiving all dividends according to the payout schedule. You can check it in the Dividends calendar.
For instance, the first dividend payout for a project is planned three months after the project’s funding is complete. You buy a hot token one day before the payout. It means that you will receive all dividends for the past quarter because you are this token’s owner now.
Selling hot tokens
In the Portfolio tab, your new token purchases are displayed at the top. If you are willing to exit your investment or sell a part of the tokens you own, tap the button ‘My tokens’.
On the page My tokens, you can choose a project to sell. To do this, tap the gear wheel icon (⚙️). In the menu, choose Sell tokens to open a form. Here, you can assign a number of tokens to sell and their price – from 1 up to 9999 USD.
| Important! If you have tokens stored in your external personal wallet or any other address, you need to bring them back to the NOVA storage to sell them in the app. |
Please note that your token price is not its final price for a buyer. The NOVA platform charges a 5% fee for the selling processing. The fee is paid by the buyer. The seller will receive the reward that they set for themselves (i.e., amount of tokens x seller’s price).
Once the sell offering is placed, you can monitor it on the Portfolio page in the My hot tokens section. You will see how many tokens are sold out already, how much you will receive for the full selling out, and all additional information on the offering. If you change your mind about the offer, you can close the offering and keep all the tokens to yourself.
How to monitor my operations with tokens?
To help you manage and monitor your activity, we have revised the section Operation history in the Finances tab and added new operation types. Now you find ‘Buy’, ‘Sell’, and ‘Dividends’ operations in history – you will always be sure of your token and money flow.
